Tribalco Expands Its Communications Presence in Africa with U.S. Air Force Modernization Projects
Tribalco, LLC, a global provider of information technology services, critical communications solutions, and warfighter survival systems, continues to expand its presence on the African continent with multiple prime contracts and task order awards with U.S. Air Forces Africa. Tribalco’s work to modernize and upgrade communications networks and infrastructure in Africa spans locations in Djibouti, Niger, and Kenya.
USAFRICOM coordinates with national, international, and regional partners to conduct military information support operations for DoD’s communication efforts to improve regional stability and security cooperation, counter violent extremist organizations, counter illicit activities, and counter malign adversarial influence within the USAFRICOM geographic AOR. Tribalco’s modernization efforts support this mission and enhance U.S. readiness and operational flexibility by improving USAFRICOM’s secure communications capabilities.
“Today’s warfighter needs superior communications connectivity,” said Tribalco’s Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sales and Operations Joseph Castro. “Tribalco is helping the Air Force meet that need by applying our extensive radio and communications infrastructure and integration expertise across multiple projects in Africa.”
Tribalco’s current U.S. Air Forces Africa projects include installing enterprise land mobile radio systems at Niger Air Base and Camp Simba, conducting maintenance hole duct system work to support base telecommunication expansions at Chabelley Airfield and Camp Simba, and establishing a point-to-point link between Camp Lemonnier and Chabelley Airfield. Tribalco’s work at Camp Simba also includes installing a modular technical control facility and Giant voice communications system.
Tribalco sees its expansion into Africa as a natural extension of its successful work supporting the military’s modernization efforts across the EMEA and SWA regions. Tribalco credits its successes in this expanding AOR to its standards of operational excellence, superior delivery, and customer satisfaction.
“Tribalco has a long history of successful program delivery with the U.S. Air Force, and we are excited to have the opportunity to build on our successful track record with our communications modernization work in Africa,” said Castro.
